COVID-19 Precautions

by | May 9, 2020 | Blog | 0 comments

We’ve been receiving several inquiries asking if we’re currently open for business, and yes we are!

In response to the COVID-19 virus and in an effort to help keep you safe during your stay at the cabins, we have added disinfecting procedures to our standard strict housekeeping practices. (We ourselves are the primary cleaning persons, so we ensure they are completed fully.) We are disinfecting all frequently-touched surfaces (door handles, remotes, light switches, telephones, faucets, etc.) immediately upon entering the cabin when a guest leaves. Towels and used bedding from the cabins are being removed before bringing in clean linens.

We’ve taken the puzzles, books, magazines, and games from the cabins, as well as some of the CDs and DVDs. We’ve also removed some of the non-essential decorative items that are difficult to disinfect, such as throw pillows, bed quilts and bed scarves. While this may detract somewhat from the aesthetic appearance of the cabins, we hope you consider the precautions to be worthwhile. We are doing everything we can think of to make the cabins as safe as possible, and we still feel that they are an ideal place for “social distancing” and getting away without the crowds.

Cancellation policy

We have made a slight modification to our cancellation policy. For any guest who thinks they might be sick or has unexpectedly had significant exposure to the virus, we ask you to call us as soon as possible, and no later than noon on the date of your stay, to discuss options, which may include a “Courtesy Coupon” for a future stay. We respectfully ask that you request a Courtesy Coupon only if you are truly feeling sick or have an unanticipated and high likelihood of being sick. Even then, kindly give us as much advance notice as reasonably possible, so that we may have as much time as we can to re-book the cabin.

Dining options

Regarding dining options, Thorntown restaurants have been open for carry-out food (Lost Frontier, Danny J’s Pizza, Stookeys, JC Cocina, Dairy Queen, Subway, and Fast Lane Foods). Standard menus for many of these restaurants are in the cabin, and you can use the cabin phone to contact them regarding carry-out options.

Entertainment

Since we’ve reduced some of the “entertainment options” in the cabins (books, magazines, games, puzzles, CDs and DVDs, etc.), we especially recommend you bring some that you might enjoy. Other than that, it’s business as usual, and in our minds, a lovely place to be through all of this!
